Multitasking is a new excellent feature included in iPhone 4S. Check below how to do that.
Open any App and double press the Home button.

A bar appears in the bottom of the screen called App Switcher Bar which consists of all the App icons. Swipe right to see more app icons and tap any to open the particular app.

Again to switch to a different app launch the App Switcher Bar by double pressing the home button and repeat the process.
Note: The last App used is shown as the first app in the App Switcher bar.
My Idea: Each time we need to double press the home button to launch the App Switcher Bar. I feel it would be better if once the App Switcher Bar is selected, it needs to appear for the entire course of App switching process.
